Default Anyone used U-Pol Gravitex stonechip? IT'S REACTED?!

Can it be applied over existing stonechip and paints?

Reason is, I've got to re do all the rear end of the car, as it's new metal, but in the arches only small sections need touching up where the old stuff has burnt off during welding. I don't want to take the whole arch back to bare metal as it's been done in the past and doesn't need totally re-doing, but will it react with the Hammerite and Tetrosyl stonechip etc that's already on the arches?

All the bare metal has been etched and zinc primed and seams Tiger-sealed.

No it won't react mate as we use it all the time on sills arch lips ect and I've just done the whole underside of a t4 with it, excellent stuff and a bonus of being paintable too.

Well ive used it and its reacted! Bastard stuff.

I used Halfords Etch Primer on the bare metal which was left for a week.

Then U-Pol Tiger Sealed all the seams and this has been on for 4 or so weeks.

Today I shot some U Pol Graxitex over it all and after 5 or so minutes of it being on all the seam sealer had bubbled up and fell away from the seams. Now the underside's in shit state!

All the etching and seam-sealing was done in good weather and had plenty of time to cure.

Anyone else had this problem?

Tiger seal isnt a seam sealer tho is it?
I havnt used any for years but it was a putty like stuff.
The only tiger seal i ever used was to bond on a spoiler.

Never used gravitex tho

Its a polyurethane sealant. Loads of people use it as a seam sealer, I have in the past and its been great. It hasnt just rippled up, though, its totally fallen away from the seams.

We have done loads of cars with the gravitex and never had one issue so I would be thinking it's the primer.

It's deffinately reacted with the etch. Seen this so many times. Personally I think it's shit stuff. There are much better products out there. Teroson or 3m stonechip is what I use and both can be painted over, trust me I've been panel beating and spraying for 20years. Upol products are toilet in comparison. Wash off the gravitex with thinners and start again with either teroson or 3m hope this helps.
