Hi. Well i wanted to replace the vv on the fiesta with some better and more tuneable. My dad is in england at the minute as sadly my grand dad passed away, while cleaning out his garage my dad found a carb of one of his old 1.6 ford's. Now the oly 1.6's my dad had were a mk3 capri L,mk3 capri GL,mk3 cortina L and a mk3 corttina GL. Now i know thay have pinto engines i was just wondering what carb thay would of had so i can get a k&n for it???

weber has codes at base of carb, on side just below throttle spindle height
they fitted different carbs depending on year ect
so I`d wait, or get the code ,
if your fiesta is 1.1 you can rejet a 1.3 carb
if 1.3 a rejetted 1.6 with see an increase in power (only if you rejet correctly),

really you need a supersport or 1.3 ghia carb, or 32 dgv dfm or 28/32 dcd twin chokes
or a 1.3 vv they ain`t bad when working ok and that would fit straight on I think
1600 carbs bit big really
find a fiat 127 sport and your winning still have to down-jet it
obviously twin chokes mean new inlet manifold or major surgery

 

Have no idea what it is from just a 1.6 ford pinto. Will keep my eye open for a diffrent carb then but my vv is crap so it will work a bit better i hope. also plane on puting a cherry bomb on it.
