Why would I get no spark while cranking then one single spark after I let go of key

Is your battery good? Sounds like all the juice is being used for the starter motor and there isn't enough left for anything else. Tried bump starting?

was a school boy error, attached the ignition live to the wrong ignition.... i had attached it to the yellow on the barrel that turns off the live feed while cranking the engine. i had to change it to the black at the back of the barrel. thanks for your advie none the less mattxr3i!!
