Default modern injector vs cosie injector

right just had a thought about injectors

as imgoing to be running omex i can run just about any injector with the balest resistors conected/disconected

i thought cosie injectors may be i bit crude for a zetec turbo as they probably wont have a good spray pattern and cause unburnt fuel to get thrown out of the exhaust and not give good fuel econemy for a dayly driver

i have a chance to get some 430 cc injectors from a new 2.2 turbo vauxhall whitch i think is going to give a better burn of fuel due to having 4 jets and fine spray pattern

here's some pics and tell me what you think

thats the vauxhall injector

thats the cosie injector

so has any one had experience with this sort of thing before?

OMEX will drive these injectors fine - You may not need balast resistors depending on
the new injectors resistance.

Balast resistors are a crude but just about good enough method of load current limiting.

will the modern injectors use less fuel and help burn the fuel cleaner/better than the cosie ones?

i read somwhere that a fair bit of unburnt juice gets thrown out of the exhaust and some modern injectors (like pic above) may sort this out due to a real fine spray pattern

there was a customer at the local rolling road that said that the cosie injectors will react slow with balest resistors installed and probably will idol a bit rough with greens but i was a bit like wtf??
im shure if there geting the proper power there made for they should work as if installed in a cosie

so what im rearly geting at is will the new injector inprove performance and fuel economy for my Zetec turbo setup

As with any engine configuration, Its all down to the mapping and the person who sets the car up.

As well as what me n barryboy said, simon got it spot on, can have all the snazzy tech bits in the world, but its how they set up that matters

The newer injectors on the diesels i work on 'atomise' the fuel better this is why all the diesels have better performance and burn cleaner

So i would think that using a newer design could 'possibly' give you this for your car. However, i'm not sure if you would notice a big gain.

I had this type of conversation with Stu once, he advised me to go for Greys, rather than some fancy new injectors

The amount of difference the "spray pattern" makes on injectors is FAR exagerated on internet forums, you will notice bugger all difference in reality.
