I work on the taxi version every day, so been there done that plenty times,
Best way is just pull front end off and take engine out, way quicker in the long run
It's really not that hard, just looks like a mega job when the front ends off and the engine and box are out
Once th engines out the head is straight forward enough
But I'll warn you just now, that the heads a quite common for cracking, so get it checked while it's off

Do you have to take injectors out? They come out easy enough?

Wouldn't like to guess tbh
The average labour rate in the motor trade varies massively in different areas
And the fact that I've done so many men I cando them a lot faster than most
I'd prob quote around 15 hrs plus parts if that helps you any

My man says probably better just to swap for a good 8v engine rather than mucking around with my engine............ I'm not sure tbh

Never swapped to a 8v as we're not allowed to change engine types due to local council rules on the taxi's, but the old 8v's are fairly bullet proof and you can pick them up for pennies, so if that's an option then it's viable in my opinion

He does loads, council quite strict here but it's allowed, it's fairly straight forward he says. Just would rather keep my engine because I know history of it and it's very quiet
