Does anyone have any information when this engine was first developed. Looks like it was in the Sierra and P100 (turbo diesel 75hp). Can't quite seem to find out any information on the development of this engine. Anyone know when it was first developed and any history behind it? Just intrigued that is all...

I'm fairly certain that when it was a 1.6 it did not have a cambelt either and the cam was gear driven. I did have a company Fiesta 1.6 diesel van back in the day as well.
I love the engine and have a later version of it in my 1999 Focus.
