Hi. I'm new to the forum but as I building a Locost 7 kit car using a 1600 x flow engine I might be making good use of the forum.

Just bought a 1600 engine, supposedly a GT version, and I need some info re the head. The only reason I believe it's a GT is because there's a sticker on the rocker cover saying "1600 GT". Anyone could have stuck that on!

1. How do I know if it's a GT head? The valve sizes are 38mm and 32mm. Does this help?

2. The block number begins 691M. Is it likely to be a leaded or unleaded head given that block number? The head has a lot of markings on it. Would any of these indicate an unleaded/leaded head?

Looks like an old block, I very much doubt any RWD Crossflow engine had unleaded valve seats.

I doubt very much its an unleaded head, will need converting unless its already been done.
