Even the EVO boys dont race the Nova's anymore
My Paul Bailey engined Saph 4x4 (396 BHP) had a red Nova absolutelly stuck to the rear bumper all the way to 120 MPH.........
It was not even a turbo'd one, just a tuned 2 litre on throtle bodies - amazing

blimey, only just seen this post, what a load of fuss over nothing.
The "window licking" comment is purely a tongue in cheek pisstaking comment, i enjoy looking at mint cars in concours myself, my main interest is mini's and if it wasnt for the window lickers then i wouldnt have ever got to see mint condition 60s minis simply cause i wasnt born till the 70s.
As for adding the "tossers" bit on the end, i was just dangling some bait in the water to if anything was going to bite, i never expected to come back and find you has swallowed the fishing rod as well though
As for nova's being faster than cossies, well my last one was certainly quicker than most cossies, and the mid engined one should beat an even bigger percentage, but it wouldnt stand a chance against porkie's or similar, so it depends on what car you compare them to really, im certainly not under an delusions that any of my cars are quicker than all cossies, and i hope you arent any delusions that your cossie is quicker than all novas?.
If you think there is any jealousy in my posts though you are 101% mistaken, i dont feel any jealousy whatsoever, otherwise how could i be friends with someone like Doug with his wonderful ferrari that i couldnt afford, but if i wanted a 30 grand RS500 i certainly have the means to buy one easily enough, hell ive spent nearly that much a couple of my minis and the nova that im building at the moment between them anyway, and if you add in the other 5 cars ive got at the moment and what ive spent on them i could have had an rs200 instead of all of them if i wanted, but i dont, cars like that interest me less than the sort of things i own now, feel free to laugh at me for that, but dont expect it to bother me
I happen to like doing stuff like minis and novas with silly power to weight ratios, i just find it amusing beating people in cars that they view as shite, i just like he irony of the underdog winning.

NORTH YORKS RS SPARES, by the way, my car isnt a q plater anymore because a mate of mine was driving it and lost the arse end and hit a sign post going backwards at a fair rate of knots, the only decent nick new shell that came up was a 1.6 GL in a rather unpleasant shade of brown.
So next time my car appears its going to be an A reg cossie replica with a mixture of rs500/4wd saph/3 door/escort cossie bits on it, so feel free to refer to it as an "A plate 1.6 GL cossie replica" if you like mate.
Im not into all the "whats written on the logbook" thing so it doesnt bother me in the slightest if you want to judge my car on what it says on the logbook, i'll leave those sorts of feelings as strictly the domain of the window licking tossers who dont interest me in the slightest
Any man who spends 10 grand + on the engine for a 50 quid base model mini has to be a little fucked up in the head anyway in the opinion of the concours boys, so im sure my feelings on logbooks wont surprise many people
