PassionFord Post Whore!!
Had a mk1 Escort on a G reg (1969 not 89!), but sold it for spares before I ever did anything with it.
Mini was first car I had on road when I passed my test.

1st legit car (when I passed test etc) was a black mk2 fiesta 1.1 popular that was actually an xr2 (I bought an xr2 but insurance was to high so bought mint black 1.1 and swapped everything over, insured as 1.1)
1st actual car I had and drove illegally was when I was 12/13 astra max van with c20xe engine

I'd love that car back it had the mintist shell ever, unfortunatley it ended it's days just up the road from my house when a silly old git driving an S Class Merc in carpet slippers pulled out infront of me and I went straight into the side of it.

Previous Fords
After I passed my test, my first Ford was a 1200cc Anglia 105e. Put a 1500 GT
Cortina engine and gearbox in it, lowered it and put Lotus Cortina wheels on it. It was a great little car but got written off racing a mate in his MGB GT!!
Next was a Cortina 1600e, bored out to 1650, stage 3 head, uprated cam and twin 40 DCOE webers,
A mark 1 V6 Capri was next, I had all the Swaymar goodies on that including a Holley 4 barrel carb, flared arches ,lowered with twin exhausts. Went really well an sounded like a V8!! The 1600e and the Capri were both cars I had in Australia
Back to the UK and next car was a Mark 2 Lotus Cortina. The original Lotus engine in it was knackered and so I put in the big valve Lotus Elan one and had what was then very modern Lumenition electronic ignition fitted. Again went really well and loved the noise that the twin 40s made.
At the same time as having the Lotus Cortina I also had a beautiful Uren 1600e Cortina Savage. I had it resprayed in Silver Fox with big Alley cat wheels and it looked great.
After them I bought my Sapphire Cosworth 2wd which was one of the last 2wd ones made. Ford kept it for 2 years then it had just one owner for a short time until I bought it over 20 years ago.
Since owning it It has gradually evolved into what it is now , a beast which I love. By far the fastest Ford I have had but boy would I love to still have the Lotus Cortina and the Savage in the condition they were in when I owned them !! They would be worth serious money now!! I have got photos but I am a bit useless at uploading them!

Mine would beat his, then get over taken by an old transit or lorry, 60bhp is really nothing today! Both cars were bullet proof though, never a single breakdown that I can remember and they were given death!

First proper car I had was a MkV Cortina 1.6 Base.
It ended up with a full Crusader interior, Alley Cat Rallye wheels, 2.0 pinto with a Burton head and a 5 speed gearbox also uprated brakes and suspension.
Had a full feature in Fast Ford in the early 90s as well.

I had my first car when I was 11 a fiat panda for driving around the fields, but my first road car I bought when I passed my test at 19 was a Renault 9 turbo with a blown engine for Ł90 in 1999.

First car I owned was a MKII RS2000!!
I loved that car and ended up spending absolute shedloads on it making it rallyable...it was the absolute nuts with a homebuilt 200+bhp Pinto. Unfortunately someone else thought it must have been good and nicked it. Thieving bastards!!
Scooby Slayer - fancy meeting you in here!! LOL

I've found that life I needed.. It's HERE!!
First car for me was a Hillman Avenger, 1300 Super.. JMO 477K
I was gold with a green vinyl interior. I ended up being taxi for everyone as all my mates had minis and MG Midgets and I could fit, err 'several' people in mine.. lol...
It was my grandads old car and after he stopped driving it was layed up for a year or two in his garage and he said if I could get it going and through an MOT I could have it.. so I did.. drove it round for a year before selling it to my brother for Ł100..
some fond memories of stuff I got up to in that car...

I'm lucky in that my dad wanted me and my bro to learn to drive at an early age. When I was 8or9 he bought us a renualt 5 which never ran properly, then an mini which was great. He extended the pedals and put a false floor in. Then when I was about 10 he bought us a Mk1 Escort 2door. I dont know what engine it had, I think a 1.6 but its was great fun. If only I knew what it would be worth though. I painted it with a brush lol.
First road car was a Nova 1.5TD GSi lookalike, which was a good car till I rolled it (richard hammond tyle).

Mk2 Escort 1.3 GL 2 door. It was blue when it started.
When I added the Zakspeed arches it got a custom paint - mix of metallic black and metallic grey.
And a 1600 twin-cam.
