Default Boost gauge - newb question

If my frst has a boost gauge fitted but appears to be totally standard would this imply it has been modded in the past or do people just fit them anyway?

Where would the places be to look in the engine bay for evidence of performance mods?

Boost gauge was one of my very early mods.

Can't say if additional mods are present on yours really. Check air box is present and if a panel filter is fitted. Stick your head into passenger footwear and look up and see if a chip is hanging out the bottom of the Ecu, if not but the port is not covered this could be a sign it was chipped in the past.
