Default YB rebuild advice

Bored of not having the Cossie on the road now, so decided to put my YB back together now, get the car in the road and build another engine for bigger power later,
My questions are:

The crank looks spotless to the naked eye, is it worth getting polished anyway?

Is it difficult to get det pitting out of a cylinder head?

And other than doing things methodically, cleanly and using plastiguage (measure twice and all that) is there any other advice people have? Bearing in mind I have built a few zetecs and CVHs in my time but not a Cossie lump.

Regards, Kieren

I would get the pistons pocketed that way if you put a bd10/bd14 in the head your all good all so do the springs in the head . You don't need a Cosworth oil pump if it's 2wd just get a pinto pump and Swop the lids over . And speak to matt for all your parts he will sort you out
I just remembered as for the shells on the crank get the right ones as a Cosworth was just a pinto but as the crank was made for Cosworth and it has Bigger bhp put at it they are a different size so this is a must to get right on a YB motor
