Wink i need your opinions on my fiesta rs turbo- work being done

right guys i just want your opinions with my fiesta rs turbo as ive finally found a guy to do all the work on my fiesta rs turbo! good rep on the series 1 forum and rs owners club! initially it was having a 3/4 spray as there are small chips and light scratches etc but im thinking just get it all done (it is 24 years old now )

other work being done is -

all the horrid abs completely removed, NON abs brake lines sprayed in olive green, new gold unions, driveshafts refurbished in satin black (believe satin was the factory colour?), new brake servo along with master cylinder installed - basically as it came from factory without abs! also new genuine ford wheel bearings and cv joints to put on while its all off!

price quoted for all work and full respray with bodykit off is £3100 - does this sound reasonable?

scrap a 40k fiesta rs turbo? and im the 2nd owner for 12 years?

yes its got some scratches and chips, nothing bad, but no point in just having parts sprayed as there are 17 shades of mercury grey, will just have it all sprayed!

Sounds reasonable I suppose if the work is done to a high standard. I paid 2k for fill respray including engine bay, boot floor. Also had new boot floor and battery tray welded in.

I did the stripping and putting back together so saved me around 1k so your price sounds right

if thats a drive in drive out job seems good value, i'd estimate £2400 to paint the car to a decent standard then about 2-3 days work @ £50 an hour to do the other jobs so i guess it seems reasonable.

Put it this way, if that was my car, and I got quoted that price to get the work done by fellow RS enthusiast, my car would be there already My car is going in next Wednesday for a full paint, and I have no idea how it will be, too late to check now lol.

As Rog has pointed out,a fellow enthusiast is a better bet than a bog standard bodyshop imo.
A like minded RS lover will know all too well as some parts can not be broken or thrown away.A normal body shop bloke who works on newer cars wouldnt care if things got broken or thrown away thinking as they could just replace the part only to find out later that its made from unobtainium .

I think its a fair price but the proof is in the pudding
