Default Dpf and Diesel cats

Feb 16th they become testable items, checking for the presence. Any vehicle fitted with one as standard will have to have it fitted for mot.

It's only a DPF they check and it's only a visual check.
Smash the insides out and they will never know.

Does this supercede and override the pre-existing rules that cars with an engine swap only have to have equipment for and meet engine age related emissions??

ie they arent now expecting all those people with old engines in newer cars to retrofit cats to a engine that doesnt have to pass a cat test??

Most people who Decat their diesels just smash the insides out so I can't see it being a big issue. They do the same with the DPF too!
My CAT looks totally standard so doesn't bother me.

I can't see them being able to 'test' a DPF. Just a visual check.

And who knows exactly which models did and did not have them, bit of a grey area, obviously if a aftermarket removal/delete pipe is fitted you might be able to soit them.
