Default Transit advice....

Looking at getting another transit. Have a 51 2.0 di atm but it has 200k on and things are starting to go wrong so want to get rid while its still running etc

Was look at getting another one the same shape but with lower miles etc

Ive seen a mk5 transit 2.5 banana engine on ebay mint 66k 2 owners completely clean for £1500

My mate always goes on how good they are reliability wise but just how much they rust! This one is immaculate by the looks of it!

Is it a good idea to downgrade or not?

It may be mint now but as soon as rot sets in, it'll destroy it.

In my opinion banana engine is best engine in transit and I personally prefer the smiley front transit, if your only issue is you engine why not just get another engine cheap enough for low mileage one

I cant be bothered swapping engines etc as its for work so need it on the road.

Always fancied a smiley transit. I know they are slow but im after reliability!
