focus key fob problem
Wondered if anyone could help me... ?
My mk1 focus key fob is behaving very intermittently. I have already replaced the battery as i thought it was that but it still works excellently sometimes and other times im stood there for ages trying to get it to work.
Anyone have any ideas?
Cheers!

The metal contacts inside the fob wear down which causes them to flatten. This causes the poor contact when you press the button. A replacment fob can be got on ebay and the likes. Then you can swap over the parts needed for it to work properly.

If you're getting a new fob have a look at the "flip" types, much cheaper than they used to be.
I have one and ordered another today; about £25 plus another £10 to have the blade cut to my code.
I can program it myself for the immobiliser and remote lock/unlock as I already have 2 working keys. If you don't that's an extra cost for an auto security specialist (or Ford) to do it.
