who wins?
first up, mods, please don't move this to the video section because i want to see it from both a motoring and a cyclists point of view as well as a legal standing as to who would "win" if it went to court
as a "white van man" and a cyclist, i see this all the time in london
the audi driver is being a prick for trying to get away in the first place
but then the cyclist has got his hot head on and chased after him
and then obviously the guy who gets out is at fault for smacking him
so who would "win" in a court of law?

You can't just smack people regardless of verbal exchanges. IMO the cyclist would win..
The driver also caused a traffic offence by driving into the cycle box to start with. Not a leg to stand on for me like..

in london cycling is bloody dangerous at the best of times, but many cyclists (not all) do take the holier than thou attitude knowing they don't have any number plates etc to identify them in any legal repercussion's , can see why the audi driver got frustrated and moved but he should really have waited but the cyclist was the one doing the provoking and if he fronted me like the audi driver he would end up with same result

Saw this on facebook last night, hard to say really as you can't make out what is being said, and weather there was anything else that happened further back along the road.
I can see why the Audi driver is wound up, he has places to go and is probably pissed off at the cyclists cutting in front of him at the lights then having to try and get past them, then it all happens again at the next set of lights. And from the cyclists point of view, he is legally allowed on the road and has a space available to ride into at the front of the queue.
Audi driver should not have cut past them at the lights, and the cyclists should not have ridden like cunts to catch him to provoke an argument.
I have no issue at all with cyclists in cities, what I do have issues with though is the cunts with dazzling lights aimed in driver's faces instead of pointing at the road ahead, these are usually the ones with cameras glued to their heads, not for their own safety, it's just for when they want to provoke a car driver, then upload it to youtube, crying like a bunch of babies saying they are being victimised!
Cyclist deserved a punch IMO.

in my opinion the cyclists is just being a fookin dick!!!!
I spend a lost of time cycling and yeah things happen that piss you off, but why let it get to you, and lets face it if that guys stupid enough to ride with out a helmet then his opinion of the car driver is irrelevant

Looked like his peddle hit his door as well.
I think the drivers right. I fucking hate cyclists. Never look when pulling out and do what they want.
But I think the Audi driver would get done though.

nowadays you don't even need to go to court for common assaults like this. you get offered a compensation order via post so you don't even need to turn up at court then you don't bother paying it any way and nothing happens because its not a court imposed fine and it doesn't even go on your criminal record....

audi driver was a dick for entering the cycling box in the first place, the rest is pretty much just a pissed off cyclist being a bit of a dick.
i'm a cyclist, just bought a new steed recently too, but i drive more than anything so some cyclist do piss me off.
the ones who are sensible are no problem at all, tends to be the amateur who just goes a to b and doesn't drive that tend to be assholes!

Id be fucking rude if someone did it to me, it might be scratch or a sing to them if they hit a cycle, to me it's a broken bone or worse
Admittedly there's a lot of cyclist who ignore the rules, but like car drivers the vast majority who are compliant go under the radar.

Audi Driver, Passenger & the cyclist all at fault.
Driver - Entering a Cycle Box at a red light, Driving without due car and attention?
Passenger - Assault
Cyclist - Disturbing the peace
Looks like the cyclist gets far too close to the car door (did he scratch it?). Just a group of jumped up arsehole's imo
Edit: You also have to ask, what's the point in them lining up in front of the car in that box?

I cycle every day in the evening to go to the gym for about 4 miles. I generally find car drivers behave properly towards cyclists if cyclists behave properly on the roads i.e. stop for red lights, don't kamikaze junctions and roundabouts and don't behave like a twat. I always stop for red lights as they don't cause my journey to be massively longer and I don't want to get ploughed down by oncoming traffic. Where cycle boxes are concerned, again, I use them properly, and when I move off, I immediately pull over to the left hand side of the road as quickly and as safely as possible to let cars pass me.
Where the above is concerned, I don't see how the Audi has a leg to stand on. The cycle box is there for cyclists to use legally. I'm fairly sure that entering a cycle box is a fine and also 3 points on your licence if driving a motor vehicle (including scooters and motorbikes). The road looks quite narrow so pretty unsafe for an overtake and it's not as if it made a fuckload more progress as at the next set of lights they were no further than the cyclists. The fact that the Audi driver took offense at the cyclists bunching up in a cycle box is neither here nor there; his journey isn't more important than anyone elses and shouldn't have entered the box nor tried to cut them all up just to get ahead. He could've waited an extra 10 or 20 seconds and overtake further up the road.
It's also amusing when cyclists in some cases can actually accelerate from standstill faster than some cars do.

Hmmm Audi driver definitely at fault for going into the box but then none of the other cyclists felt compelled to chase him down and shout abuse at him.
Both as bad as each other IMO

The audi was initially wrong to pull into box. However that didnt give the cyclist the right to back up scraping down the side of his car.
The cyclist initiated the initial confrontation rather than just doing what most normal people would do and shake thier head and carry on. It was pretty obvious the audi driver knew what he was doing was wrong. knocking on the window and giving him lip is just going to make things worse.
Still the audi driver didnt need to thump him one
Many cyclists do ask for it though. Some cunt came up alongside my car at the lights the other day then leaned on my car while he waited for the lights to change. The cunt didnt appreciate it when i rolled down the window and told him to get off my car. it might be a shitty KA but i keep it clean and dont want some pricks sweaty palm and leg prints down the side of it.
