Underbody Resto Process - Step by Step guide anyone?
Hi all,
I thought i'd head straight to where the masters of underbody restos are.....Ford forum! There are some fantastic underbody restos on here, and i'm just wnating to get the process down to a tee before i start.
I'm stripping off all the old underseal and seam seal, to start from scratch. Am i correct with the following process in the order i write it? Are the products im wanting to use ok? Or will i have reacting problems?
1) Remove all old underseal and sealer and clean up any surface rust/repairs
2) Krust or some sort of Gel rust converter on any areas needed
3) Then cover the whole floor/arches with Rustbuster Custom Epoxy 421 Primer
4) After that, THEN seal the joints and welds with Seam Seal (reccomendations)
5) Then a couple of coats of Rustbuster Epoxy Mastic 121
6) Followed by the colour of my car?
Or am i going too over the top??
Any help appreciated. Preferbaly with the order in which to do things!
Cheers

Yeah, anything major would be cut out. But its more slight surface rust in very small patches and maybe where welds have gone slightly rusty. Not rot or anything like that.
Thanks matt baxter, i've now got some on order!
Any other hints and tips?
