Anyone know if noble rollders are accurate or under or over?
I have a rolling road graph for a race car, its not a big bhp figure but but need to see if its in the correct area of power i need, i only ever use Emerald rollers, i have a engine with the printout but dont want to stick it in the car just to get it RR at emerald!

testastretta999 are you comparing it to another printout you have, i now have now choice but to get the engine rr at emerald so i can compare nobles then.

If you look at major vehicle manufacturers they tend to use maha or superflow, think this is because they prove to be more accurate and consistant.
There budgets wil be massive for the installations so you would have to assume they could just buy the best equipment available.

Anyone who owns/works using only one dyno will always tell you theirs reads low
it's one of the biggest cons in the tuning business"Yeah mate, this Dyno reads really low. XX% less than *Generic other make*"
Dyno's are comparison tools, there's no way to tell how Nobles reads compared to Emerald
60 to 100 mph doesn't lie
there's a good calc online to work out a realistic power figure from weight and iirc 60 to 100 mph. We had a good topic on here about it a while back and ambient temp sensor location can and will make a huge difference to the corrected figure.
My old saph ran 442 bhp at nobles and I can tell you for a fact that figure wasn't under as I ran it on a dyno after that I know is generous and it made 472 hp after msd remap 2.2 bar, now what I know for sure is it gained a lot more that 32 hp from the remap.
Was that on a T3 lol

What is your advice then Rod? We all know rolling roads are as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Im fed up of hearing about mk1 frs on standard turbo pushing 360+ etc.
I think its a very good way, most tuned cars that rev to around 8k should hit 100 mph in 3rd or very close. if a car cant make full traction at 60 mph on a hot day with warm tyres then the cars not set up right for use imo, my supra would full hook in 3rd from 60 mph on the r888s.
it doesn't have to be at brunters to measure power output, a 1/4 mile terminal tells the truth aswell but 60 - 100 is a lot easier to do.
whp, weight and terminal I have a plot that has correlated well to my supra and first r32 pod terminals and power.
The question shouldn't be about accuracy - they all read what they read - it should instead be about consistency. A dyno cell that can give repeatable results is a useful tool. One that gives wildly different results each time is completely useless.
I totally agree, its still nice to know if the figures are somewhere near correct though.
