explosive ordnance Stu and his brother is also there in the air assault battalion, our family find it hard to watch the news at times for obvious reasons and my uncle their dad is now semi retired and based at bovington, I will ask as soon as he is home fella as the capri is pristine the same day as he got it from me

Hi Stu, if matey can't help with the 3.0s
I have a 280 Capri that can be used or my red Tickford should be taxed and mot'd by then ready for Ford Fair.
The cars are in Southampton so quite local.

Luckily as they are massive geeks (and liking old Fords bit strange haha) they actually set up a website for their wedding. Even an app. The groom works for amazon and writes apps for fun. Weird one I know. Why aint he in the shed with a hammer god only knows. The venue is Sherbourne.

No worries mate, if they want me to remove the passenger seat that wouldn't be a problem as Capris aren't very lady friendly when getting out of the back!!!...

I did just have this coversation with my missus. I said does she realise a capri aint the easiest thing to get into the back of. 1 her dress is small. And if you're willing to do that thats brilliant. The bride seems to have gone to bed. But I will get onto this tomorrow morning and see what she says. Linked her the thread so she may pop up here herself

Hi guys! I'm the bride in question (Kirsty). I am aware of the lack of lady friendliness of the capri but to be honest I would curl up in the boot, or climb over the seat if I had to! I originally wanted to drive myself to my wedding in a capri, but was talked out of it!

They are beautiful cars thanks for all the replies etc, and thanks Stuart for putting this up!

I am pressing my Grandad to tie up whether he is able to hire this capri he is investigating (someone he knows who knows someone who has one - these things take time! haha), and then I will definitely be back in touch if it doesn't work out. My Grandad will be coming with me in the car, hence why I'm happy to let him investigate for a while.

As far as these rentals go... probably silly question, but I know some people who hire their cars out wish to drive them themselves, whereas others are willing to let others drive. Whats the deal with your cars? self drive or owner drive?

Thanks guys!

Hi Kirsty, I wouldn't actually charge you for using my car as I don't think my insurance lets me hire out the vehicle for this sort of thing, so It would be done as a wedding gift. Just top my tank up with fuel to get me there and back.
If you or your grandfather wanted to drive my capri to the Church, I would agree to this if the driver will be put as a named driver on the policy for the day. Just to cover me if anything happens as they are worth a lot of money.
Regards Jason.

Hi Jason,

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you, my Grandad actually had a heart attack so he hasn't really had any chance to sort anything out. I've taken the decision to just get this sorted myself for my own peace of mind!

If you are still willing to let us use your Capri then we would very much like to. It is likely to be my uncle who will drive (he's a mechanic and a big fan of classic cars), as my Grandad does not feel confident enough to drive it, and I myself will probably be a bit nervous as it is!

We of course would be willing to pay for your petrol. I think I mentioned before, but I just want to double double check that it is ok that the wedding is on a Thursday.

Are you able to PM me your email address and I can contact you directly to talk about logistics etc.

Thanks!
Kirsty
