Jeez, looks good, all I see are matts, can you get a good gloss to replicate paint, won't mind trying it for a year if I had a choice of colours.

Looks pretty cool in matt white.... What colour was it?

Wouldnt mind doing my roof in black or carbon to cover a bit of rust around the sunroof...

Wrapping wont hide rust im afraid.
it can be very glossy if you use the right material but never as good as a proper paint job.
heres an e46 convertible hardtop we wrapped yesterday in gloss black.

white seems to have the best finish as it hides a lot of the imperfections but deep scratches or lumps and bumps still show.

Gloss white looks good but not a fan of white on a saff, escos and 3dr but not the taxi.
Gloss black may be an option tho

As a fitter what's recommended for aftercare, presume you don't have to polish/wax to maintain shine ??

Gloss wraps you can polish no probs but you can still scratch a wrap but depending on materials used, you can heat some out. I recommend polishing and cleaning as normal but nothing too abrasive or solvent based.

Soapy water and and a hose to clean and chamois leather or micro fibre cloth to dry and its done!
You can polish it with autoglym srp or similar non cutting polish but i have used pledge furniture polish before. It really doesnt matter what you use because its basicly shiney tupperware.
Have you thought about maybe doing something different like satin metallic bronze/brown or satin met blue or maybe something really different like urban camo (white, black and grey)?.

I was afraid someone was going to say that!! Lol

I was thinking of grinding out the worst of my rust spots, treating and filling and wrap the roof myself, rather than fork out for a body shop! Just to keep it at bay... I know it's a bodge and it will come back, but just buying time till I can afford to get it done properly...

these are not a bad idea get car resprayed then wrapped to protect paint, well that's what my plan is anyway as mine needs a respray I got fucked driver wing I have gen new ford one to replace it inner sills need doing and pass rear arch slight bubbling so going to get this done then respray but was thinking about wrapping after to protect i'll either get same wrap as colour of car (flint grey)or a red as when/if I come to sell her it can easily be removed and bodywork/paint work should still be tip top.

How about matt metallic, reckon it would look good on a saff? My S5 is wrapped in matt dark grey metallic. Still a matt vinyl but has a metallic effect in the vinyl, not OTT or overly noticable but in the Sun it looks great!
