From having spoken to one of the main guys at the RS division last year at the Fiesta ST press launch I certainly got the impression an RS was on the way. He told me in not so many words that they were very busy working on a new project, and as the Fiesta ST and Focus ST were both out at that point you can only speculate there's an RS on the way.

There's been more talk of the Focus RS than the Fiesta. We'll see in time though

The Mustang is on the way though which trumps both IMO unless their extraordinarily good.

Ford have no choice but to make a Fiesta RS whether they want to or not. Purely as most RS road cars prior, have been linked to a current rally car (or some form of motorsport) and the fact now that they have stolen the Clio RS200T's thunder with the St...Renault are rebranding the "Gordini" as the halo model. VW will do the same with a Polo R and Vaux have done the Nurburgring Corsa's too. So Ford will want a slice of that, they wont really lose out as the yanks will go nuts for them and if its better and faster than the current ST...they will clean up on the halo model battle too

I would agree with the above. The only thing that makes me doubt it is a mule car I saw being tested behind closed doors at Mountune last year that was not a Fiesta! Perhaps that was for something else though.

I remember the guys there telling me they had been driving around in a Fiesta ST mule since spring 2012, around a year before they came out.

Apart from that 230bhp 1.6 sounds interesting! Although, what is it going to weigh? Major set back for me with all these new cars is the weight makes then so bland and lifeless to drive ok they make up with more power than the older models but it's not just about power to weight ratios IMO
Would be nice to see a fiesta sporting the rs badge again tho
