the only way i can get more distance is by removing the bracket that holds the exhaust.. but then i won't be able to keep the exhaust still!

and as a bonus question for you PF'ers.. anyone know how the metal adaptor plate that goes between the thermostat housing on an RS, seals to the block?! can't see any gaskets for it on microcat or ebay?!

Cheers!

Well this is a decat pipe bought with the bung pre-welded on. it's for a focus RS and i have all the correct focus RS exhaust turbo bits.. I can't work it out!

Further down the decat pipe there's a bracket almost like it should sit on the block somewhere but it's about 2 inches from even touching the block.

Further down is definately better!

My AEM wideband recommends the sensor is fitted at least 18" away from the turbo.
I'll be fitting it at the very end of my downpipe!

Where do you draw the line at too far lol. I have a bung on the FRS flexi where the post-cat sensor would go?

For a wideband it needs to be further than that. If it was a factory standard narrow band it would be fine, as they need heat to operate.

Remember, some tuners will put a wideband up the tailpipe to map a car and get the right readings!!

Which isnt the best as if have a exhaust leak no matter how small it will change the afr

12-18 inches from the turbo is fine

did you buy the stuff off me on ebay?
first thing use the post cat bung for the innovate.ive got my plx afr o2 sensor in that one.would you not need the first one for the lambda sensor anyway?

the adaptor plate has a rubber seal on it iirc. id reuse that and see how it goes.if not carpartsexpress can supply you with a new seal and even use some sealer with it

your stuff was posted today mates so should be with you tomorrow or friday

Just weld a bung in a more suitable location.

Or slightly more obscure...

Yeah I've seen those before but it takes it too far out of the flow, otherwise it would be perfect.
