Please help
I have owned the van for two weeks wen I got the van it started on the button for first 4 to 5 days as time went on it started to crank more times before starting so cleaned all lines and replaced filter bleed diesel lines and started to start a lot better drove 300 miles plus
Went out next morning and would not start at all just cranking and cranking put jump leads on after 10 mins of cranking and still nothing
So out came the easy start and with a very small wiff it started straight away
Runs perfect after and never seen a drop off smoke out off it
Van drive and runs perfect as coverd 500 miles plus once started with easy start but as soon a I turn it off it REFUSES to start just turns and turns PLEASE HELP
Thanks Danny

High pressure pump sounds like it could be on its way out to me. Requires alot of pressure to start a diesel. You could have a faulty non return valve if theres one in the system on that van or a weak lift pump in the tank. Injector leaking/returning too much diesel. Theres loads of possible things that can cause non starting on a diesel mate abit hard to help without actually looking at it. Hope you get to the bottom of it though.

Could do I suppose but it runs fine with easy start so to me it should be ok. You need to be checking the fuel pressures first then seeing if the injectors are leaking off. I work on diesels all day and majority of the time its a faulty injector or fuel pressure fault. Make sure your not drawing air in anywhere as thus can cause non start issues.
The high pressure pump has a high output when cranking and in most modern diesels drops slightly when the car has started. We use computers at work and read the real time display in the engine ecu. Might sound daft but you havent kinked a pipe when you've been messing with the fuel lines? Its really hard to try and diagnose something like this without actually looking at it myself mate.
I don't do any work on the side mate its not worth the hassle plus all the equipment I use is locked away on site every night by the gaffer. Just been reading a similar problem on a transit site and that turned out to be the pump. Best bet is to find a diesel specialist fella.
