As im getting new number plates for a private plate brought for me for Christmas I want to know whether I should stick or screw I personally think it should be screwed on for that original look but do also lik the idea of sticking it on so its flush and clean

Stick but not sure on Velcro? Easily removed by anyone who fancies it
Any double sided pads are good, can always get them off after with some thinners to get rid of it all

Exactly.

Every time I've drilled a plate it ended up pissed and that was using the old plate as a template that was straight

I hate 'screwed on' plates. I always 'stick' mine! And I really wouldn't worry about going for the "original look", it's a Mondeo not a concours RS1800

Screws look horrid but its harder for people to pinch them where as if there stuck on people can just rip them off.

And, if you do drill them, drill from the back, or it'll peel the backing off abit round the hole when the drill goes through...

Depends how the plate is made to drill through back or front. Generally the 'newer' type ones are drilled through the front. Personally i'd stick em though!
