I sold loads years ago on rst manifolds with spacers made, never had 1 come back.

I ran 1 myself on a stage 3 cossie at 22 psi no problems, as long as the boost is kept sensible there very similar to a t34.
I wouldn't run 2 bar on 1 though nor would I fit one to a high spec big build.

Holy shit £150 lol
Looks like it's made of plastic on the eBay add, but good to know they were ok. I'd still run a mile from this though unless it was a really chep project car.

They're just crap made in China. So quality will be very hit or miss, and performance compared to a proper branded unit will usually be less, for as long as it lasts.

It'd be just as handy to buy a good second hand genuine GT28 or something, rather than a crappy chinese T3 copy.

Or Precision do a lot of budget units, although nowhere near £150

there no good on a 1.6 lol
they are suited well to a 2.0 zvh or 1900 cvh though.

I sold one to a guy who put it on a red top aswell.

I used to make a spacer to get it to fit the stock rst manifold, and supply with rear wastegate housing on a manifold.

they weren't openly available when I started doing it and sold quite a few before I stopped doing them about 6 years ago, I remember as I did my last batch just after I got with my missus

Yes, but in general the Chinese stuff is shit, and doesnt perform anywhere near as well as a proper unit.

Now this isnt as big an issue if it's a large engine, full budget build, and spool isnt a huge issue either.

But on a small engine where you need all the help you can, starting with s crap base is just silly.

Especially when you could buy a good genuine second hand turbo for similar money.

All boils down to overall budget and expectations.

Although it does seem the chinese stuff has improved greatly over the years. Ive even seen sellers sell stuff with their own branding, or claiming they are genuine etc etc...when they are clearly chinese units.

So I guess if you can get one of the good ones, it wont be all bad. But they just dont perform as well as proper stuff.

i've had two on a decent engine build an dthey performed alright till the seals went or thrust bearing wore down.
alright at a BAR, but anything more and they didn't last long, 2BAR was a laugh though....
i then fit a gt3071r and it was so much better and did actually last much longer and at more power.
