Default Returning a used car?

I bought my 61 reg Focus on 30/09/13 for near on 10k, it had 18,900 miles on it, since buying the car from Evans Halshaw Ford it's been back for the steering creaking when turning the wheel, they also had it for two days to fit a new fuel pump and now it's booked in again for the creaking steering wheel again, suspension creaking when going over speed bumps and now it's also loosing power, under hard acceleration the cars making all the right noises but not pulling like it usually does, if I turn the engine off and back on all seems fine.

Ford had it for four days, used all my fuel, returned it with 110 extra miles on the clock and said they couldn't find anything to cause the loss if power, it's happened to me twice today!

I've covered just over 1100 miles in it in 6 weeks, at the end of my tether now.

I would contact ford directly and complain about the car and the service you have had. Don't give the garage another chance on their own.

My experience with EH is very poor and I would not give them the steam off my shite,

I'm with you Glenn, wouldn't trust them as far as I could throw them the mess they made of my car, and charged me the earth for their substandard work too. That's the point where I decided to work on my own cars myself again.

My girlfriend's sister bought a Mini One from Evans Halshaw back in August. It developed a problem with the VANOS system and would randomly cut out. She took it back to be repaired under the three month warranty, they told her it was just low oil and topped it up.

Of course, it happened again and just last weekend she took it back to them and demanded her money back. She left them the car and received a cheque a few days later.

This was Evans Halshaw in Motherwell near Glasgow btw

I had the misfortune to work for EH some time ago. Suffice to say the Pendragon influence runs deep throughout the organisation with poorly paid and poorly motivated staff, constantly being under the cosh for target achievments etc etc. This has the knock on that staff end up giving worse service that ever before.

I got out when i could, and i'd never use them for work on any of my own cars!

Looking online could the loss of power issue be the MAF sensor?

When it happens the engine sounds very loud and throaty almost like it's taking in to much air.

You can officially reject it if they haven't resolved the issues. If it's on finance contact them to let them know your intentions as well.

Just been back to ford and they say they can't find a fault but are welcome to book it back in, while I was there I told the used car sales manager I wanted him to find me another car.

Why would you contact the manufacturer about the car?
Ford Motor Company don't make or sell used cars!

They might be interested in the service provided by one of their franchisees, but I'm not certain that it would be worth the effort.

DON'T take it somewhere else to fix unless you speak to the original supplier. If you do, you effectively waive your rights to return the car.

Ring Ford uk

0870 240 0316

When I had a problem with a local dealer not returning calls about issues I rang them and he was on the phone straight away after that.

I payed £9840 for the focus less the £1300 I got for my mondeo (which they sold for 2800!).

To swap the focus for another car they want to give me £8200 for the focus then charge me £1800 for another 1.6 on a 61 reg, cheeky fuckers!
