Default rx8 run around a good idea?

ive noticed that low mileage rx8's can be got hold of really cheap and was thinking of getting one as a run around, but are they reliable enough to last me a year and roughly 10k miles? ive done a bit of googling for common faults, only one i can find is trouble starting again when hot sometimes, does anyone know of any other major issues or common faults or what to look for when buying one?

cheers nick

the engines are made of chocolate mate, shame as they are in every other way a fantastic car, as mentioned previously if you can afford or want to, put a different engine in and you would have a cracking car

They have to be warmed up properly too, if you start them cold and then switch them off too quickly they won't start as flooded..

Heaps of shite.

Same as any other car, reliable as long as you treat them right.

Don't listen to the internet, you'll never do anything in life.

I know they are plagued with engine problems but that's not the problem with them in my opinion. It's the shit MPG. They do high teens to low 20's. They don't offer enough performance for that sort of MPG.

It's a shame as I think they look good and the rear doors are a great design.
