Are they expensive to have rebuilt ive never had one done before.Ive just won a turbo off ebay its been stood for a long time,The guy I won it off never used it and was given to him by some one else so there is no history.So im gonna assume the worst and say it needs a rebuild.I got it cheap.Whats the hybrid T2 made up off?How many stages are there.

there are 1000`s of variations on Garrett T2 turbochargers mate, which one were you thinking of?

only put out small amount of power but good spool up....... wouldnt bother personally unless its a 1.0/1.3 conversion

Sorry Sean its off a fiesta rs turbo.i have read that t28 parts can be used on it

No more expensive than any of the T series for a stock rebuild, but if you want to fit bigger wheels and housings the price goes up.
What engine are you wanting to fit it to and what's your target BHP?

I make 170 at the flywheel according to to MSD's RR and mine is fuel / air ratio is rich so power more to be had! I peek at 16 psi boost holding 14 psi (this is on a fiesta RST) It spools up VERY quickly and is provides very usable power and torque on my cvh lump.

the problem you have is the exhaust housing yes t28 bit's will fit in a t2 core ect you can have 330+bhp on a t28 most t28/t25 have a 4 bolt flange

Im not really chasing figures to be honest.Ive got a 2 litre n/a blacktop and im gonna stick the t2 on it

i'd think a t2 will be very restrictive on a 2.0 litre blacktop
you'll be ringing its neck without trying
but it will be prettt much lag free at least

Some one did a 2 litre mk2 mondeo turbo and it was using a t2 and got 200bhp out of it.I remember reading it a few yrs back.

must have been a VERY mod'd t2 to get it to flow 200bhp
i'd assume the EGT would be through the roof

If it's using the stock Fiesta RST exhaust housing then don't do it, thats way too small!! Just get a T3.

it'll work out cheaper and easier in the long run

EGT=exhaust gas temperature
if the exhaust housing is too small it gets to be restrictive causing it to get very very hot
this has a detrimental effect on he engine and should be avoided as its unsafe and will melt an engine
for a t2 to flow 200bhp its well outside its safe limit hence my comment
but a t3 will be a bit happier at 200bhp(some will still be too small)
thats basicaly what Karlos was getting at too i think

I new what egt was and how turbo chargers work lol.I literally got it for peanuts,the complete turbo with elbow and downpipe.I could use it as a trade in as well

Yeah thats exactly what I meant, even a stock RST T3 (.36/45) is small unless your doing a low power low budget build, say 190bhp'ish.

My EGT's are up to about 850°C when I am puching hard! my engine does run cool though!

Trade in if you can.. you'd be stupid to use a T2 on a 2.0 blacktop IMO.

I'd be buying something like a stage 3 T3 (from memory.. hope that's correct! ) which has been proven to run c250bhp on 2.0 zetec turbo builds previously, so you have some headroom left and aren't running things on their limit.
