get one from a merc kompressor and they will be fine

not enough space under the bonnet of a sierra to really make them work as they should so they'll have to be bolted to the side and run via pipes and stuff rather than directly onto the inlet manifold

You're biggest problem is likely to be getting a cradle to mount the charger on, as opposed to the charger itself or the associated pipework. You either need to get an original item made for the job, or find someone with a charged engine, and borrow the cradle to get a copy made up. Just guessing at it with a tape measure and a protractor isn't going to work - that charger needs to be lined up spot on for the belts and pulleys to work properly and true.

As above, and I'd go for an Eaton M90, which is off a Jag XJR and similar.

Power Engineering have fitted Eaton M90 superchargers to 2.9s. See if you can get hold of Sparkplug on the XR Owners Club forum, he has one fitted to a 3.7 conversion.

Cut a hole out the bonnet and get the super charger to stick out of the bonnet.

Definitely an M90.... The merc version (m62 I believe) wont have enough puff for your engine... I used to run one near its max rpm to get 12psi on a 2.0 zetec.
