Pretty sure Rollinz was running uprated Cat Cams 106 GTi springs, which happen to have the same part number as Zetec ones!

Get the retainers too if you're going blacktop. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-10...item338243a62a

20 psi on standard gti springs?

Doubt you will do a thread about snapped springs, but I will put money on having valve float/ bounce or misfire or unable to make power

Yeah about an hour for a straight swap but once the head is off you may as well lap the valves again. It's taken me nearly 2 hours to do a good job on lapping all the valves. Really satisfying once it's done!

Go for a decent set of multi-valve compresssors. Machine Mart was where i went. http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/pr...ing+compressor

I thought you only had to Lapp new valves and not the same ones as they are already bedded in?

Yes I use the ST170 springs but as Stu points out they are for black top heads, I've not compared but I would guess they will not work as silver top engines have hydraulic lifters and black top's are solid.
As for their limit I ran 24psi (.48/60 T3) without issue.

Because boost pressure (MAP) acts against the springs trying to open the valves, the more BHP your running the greater your boost pressure, the stronger the springs need to be.

I've not mate no, most of my builds seem to be either low budget low power which need nothing doing to the head or ST170/black-top based builds and so I use the springs from the ST170 head.
I've also been told (but never tried it) that you can shim (2mm or 3mm washers IIRC) the stock valve springs to increase pressure a little, this could be another option for people wanting a medium power budget build.

Can't see this not working. Apparantly stock are good for 7 p.s.i. so a washer has got to give you at least 10 p.s.i.

On a side note.. as you have done budget builds, i'm going to use the stock 1.8/2.0 manifold, rail, regulator, throttle body but FRS injectors. Would i encounter any running problems with this setup? I'm going to use a cossie brown IAT sensor on the boost pipe rather than the FRS elbow too.

You'll have no problems with that mate, will all be fine to use.
Assuming you have suitable management of course?

Lovely to hear, yes i'm going to use MS2 with WB Lambda.. No idea how to map or where to get it mapped near me though, but will cross that bridge when i get to it.
Would you advise to install the ECU while the engine is in or out of the car?

Well my source was a girl that i was seeing for a bit.. so.. can't really go that route for you mate lol.

Although, you only need the shims for the inlet side technically, i did both sides because i had enough, but it really isn't important to have them on the exhaust. You could even leave the standard zetec springs in on that side if you wanted..
But anyway i think i have around 8 left over...

just a heads up, you actually want to pay more attention to the exhaust valves more than inlet. I have uprated singles with shims under the ex springs.

plus ian howels got the shims if you're after a set.

Makes no difference but if your going to have someone else map it then they will probably want to install it too... I know I would, I've spent hours fault finding a poorly/inexperienced installation causing problems.

Find someone with a lathe and 10 minutes free time. I had a load made last year by a local engineering shop, I think 100 cost me a fiver!
Just grab a used stem seal for the od and id measurements, need to be 3mm thick iirc
