Default Mk4 escort van

Hell
I've been a member of this forum for a while now but am yet to make any real posts so this is my first.

I have a g reg escort bonus van, 1.4 standard engine, was white but has been resprayed grey and black by previous owner.
I bought it last year for £750 and have easily put that back into it on minor things and fix ups, eg the exhaust broke off twice in different places, that sort of thing.its just gone trough the MOT and all is well, plus I've just got a new job that doesn't require me to use it as a work van anymore so it seems time to start making it abit better.

I've installed a new soundsystem, begun to sort out the back interior, I've sprayed up the steels to make it look abit better than it did, but I'm looking for some help and ideas on what to do/how to do it.
I've got a fairly limited budget so I can't be affording no new engines or anything at the moment, but I definately want to get some new wheels and lower it, but there is my first problem, how do I go about lowering it?! I've read all about it online but I still am unsure about getting it done, I know it involves some axle flipping because of the leaf springs but I don't know anyone that can help me

So if anyone has any helpful ideas, or even spare old parts they think would go well, let me know and ill get on it

Cheers, Joe

Haha nice, I love these mk4's!

I think I've posted this in the wrong thread, but I've started a new one in the restoration rebuild and projects area

Thanks

Yeah like I say I wanna lower it and get some nicer wheels, a nicer front bumper
Maybe get round to sorting out some of the bodywork, there's some dents and stuff in the panels, I was toying with the idea of a respray but I haven't got that sort of money, maybe a new exhaust

This is my first real car I've ever had the time and money to work on so I'm very new to this and I don't know a huge deal about engines and stuff to get involved with that at the moment

Did those myself! Wheels were £60 from the scrappy with nearly brand new tyres, then it was just masking tape and dinner plates!

I do like them but I think I'd like them abit bigger, might just do they same again!! Those are 14s at the moment, maybe ill go 16...?

I love this thing! I had an eclipse before but I couldn't afford to fix the rust so sadly had to scrap it, and one day by pure chance I saw this on the side of the road, now it's mine hahaha!

I quite like the look of those deep dish wheels though... But again I've no idea where to get them or how much they'd cost :/

Probily not everyone's cup of tea but I like the way it looks now so I'd say lower it and get some banded steels in the same style as those wheels

Van looks nice as it is mate but if you want to lower and replace the wheels, lowering springs at front, flip the leaf springs over at the back and perhaps a set of RS Turbo alloys (perhaps diamond cut with the inners painted grey and a 90 spec turbo front bumper?!
