Make sure you have loads of money saved up before starting!
Even though big stuff like brakes, wheels, tires, cage, seats are tangible additions and are easily budgeted out (albeit expensive), the little things will drive you mad and cost you a small fortune!
I quit adding up the amount I was spending on braided lines and fittings and similar 'little things' when they started running in to thousands..
I'm not trying to put you off - I'm nearly there after two years (just finishing wiring) - and I'm chuffed with where I'm at; but the phrase 'bottom-less pit' comes to mind.
Now I see ex gp A/Clubmans Escort Cossies for sale at around Ł12-15k and wonder if that might have been a better option!
All the best Iain

I know what you mean mate. Ideally I could do with someone that's got something stashed that just needs engine and box
That's the prob with my road 3dr as it was never intended to get as clean as it has and I wanted to use for track days etc but now I wont want to damage it

I don't really wanna ruin the new shell so I think I'm gonna get a multipoint weld in cage and then seam weld the old shell and just tuck the new shell away for a bit
Really not interested in a road car at the minute as desperate to get out on track. Just been looking at the mach5 graphics and quite like them too.

This is mine.. Nearly there now.. need to update my build thread!
Wiring nearly done; white compo's (18's) to be replaced by grey flat face 5 spoke compo's (17's) this week.. There's always something!
It puts a smile on my face when I see it tho
