Hi all, I want to put a de-cat on my 2006 st2. I've read a lot of reviews and stuff saying that the engine management light will stay on. As you probably all know this will be annoying! Does any body know a way around this? Or recommend one? Any help would be appreciated as this cat is restricting the rest of power so I need it gone! Thanks

A decat will bring on the engine management light but there are ways around this. First, if your car is remapped, depending on the software, it may turn the light off for you automatically. The other solution is to buy an angled lambda spacer (eBay) there are loads floating about. This will turn the light off also.

IIRC bluefin is one that has the decat eml deactivation built in. Run with it for a few days without the angled spacer and if it doesn't come on you won't need it. Some others may know for sure though.

If the light comes on and you can check DTCs on the Bluefin , it will put in a P0420 (catalyst efficiency below thresh hold)
To be honest, the cats in modern cars aren't restrictive, you'll fail the MOT too.
Driven a Mountune 260ps ST and other than the Mountune map, panel filter and Pro Alloy intercooler it was standard, cat fitted and stock exhaust. These Mountuned cars go very well and EVO mag had one as a long-term test car and it produced about 280hp (285 actually) on the dyno.

EDIT: If you have stage 1 bluefin and it put that out, I will prempt the fact that you do not have an uprated intercooler and would do that WAY before a decat! Especially in summer temperatures which we have been having for weeks and weeks!
