Plastic scraper to get most of the foam off then abit of tar and glue remover. That's how I get old number plate pads off at work mate. Let it soak in a few minutes then a little rub and its gone.

This is designed for it - i've used mine on the side mouldings - removing the old seal from the rubber grill

Would a toffee wheel damage the paint? I'm guessing there would be a lot of heat build up, although I've never seen or used one before so might be talking shite.

We use a lot of autosmart tardis at work, it's brilliant stuff.

Obviously if you hold it in one position for 1/2hr it might, but a lot of bodyshops use it for taking off side skirt/spolier and badge backing adhesives.
