my ford fiesta 1.25 has developed a missfire, its due new leads and plugs but i have had the coilpack on for ages. what are good parts to use? is it worth putting expensive stuff on or should i just fit standard?

Any electricals I always say genuine, they do suffer with coil packs, if you got any testing gear (multimeter) check resistance across 1+4 and 2+3 should be 11k give or take and 1+3 and 2+4 should be just about readable 2-8ohms

thanks pal, ill have a look at work tomorow, i was looking at that puma speed MSD coil. do you think its worth it or should i just use a ford one.

They're more expensive, but use a genuine Ford coil when possible.

Plugs if not genuine, I like NGK in anything, never had a problem with them.

Plugs leads and coil pack.I bought a coil pack for the wifes old mk5 fiesta and it cost about 25quid.It was spot on and never caused any trouble.

The puma speed coil is a good idea but would be point if 1. The fault isn't the coil pack and 2. Your replacing the engine

just checked it is the coilpack, missing on number 4. how much are ford ones?

What makes you think that? If its not firing on that cylinder, it may be a plug or a lead, usually it would be missing on two cylinders, in your case number 1. It's worth swapping a plug and lead to see of the problems persists.
