Thats the hose from a 4x4 saff that goes from the thermostat housing to the pipe which runs along the bottom of the radiator

Thats the set i got, but i didnt get the top rad hose that goes to the thermostat housing.
i dont think this hose goes from the thermostat to the bottom rad pipe.

perhaps i didnt explain right, I'm sure it goes from the thermostat/water pump housing to the small pipe which runs along the bottom of the rad, thats on an early 4x4 saff

I have an early red top J plate 1991 sapph and that is the correct hose for the thermostat housing to pipe along bottom of radiator

The only thing I can think of is.......on yours, the pipe that runs along the bottom of the radiator is it straight or an L shape? as the L shape is off a green top later saph and your may have been changed at some point

I had this problem when I bought that pipe of autospecialists, they listed as 91> when it should have been 2wd or 4wd

I assure you though the hose is correct

i had the L shape pipe on mine with the standard radiator which i have now got rid of and have bought an alloy rad. is there any reason why i cant use the straight pipe along the bottom of the rad? as the lower hose from the header tank goes straight down now, obviously to join a straight lower rad pipe.

I would imagine it should be ok, im not sure why they changed this in the first place. Is it to do with the power steering pump being on the drivers side of the engine on later cars?

Yeah it will be ok, you can use either or cut the pipe shorter if you've got the L bend.

I'm sure it was changed for clearance when running multi ribbed belts
