Opel omegas are more comman than the Vauxhall counterparts due to numbers produced and worth less.

always wanted and will have a Lotus omega/carlton before i own another Escos or a 3door

such a purpose built car that pissed off the government etc when they refused the gentlemans agreement of 155mph speed limmiters and said look at this old opel it will do XXXmph lol

as stated, timing chains and brakes are the biggest issue.

but you can make bits from various marques off the shelf it as a "conversion" now and save loads and upgrade at the same time.

drive one, i dare you..... dont forget they are heavy cars
but make you grin so so much!

Wrong

They are officially a Lotus and carry Lotus type designation number of 104. They were just sold through a select number of authorised Vauxhall dealerships as it was a joint venture and Vauxhall were the parent company that owned Lotus at the time.

Mega cars

i think theres a common failure on the gearbox, and a fix or spares isnt available, one of the guys that used to work here had a friend with one, it had been sat for ages because of it

Gearbox is bomb proof. The clutch pivot pin affixed to the custom bell housing is a known weak point, however these are easily remedied to make stronger.

As with all classic cars, parts can be found if you know where to look or who to ask
