Hello fellow Ford owners, thought I'd better introduce myself.
My name's Callum, I'm 20, and last month I bought my first car; a 1988 MK2 Fiesta XR2. I have wanted one of these since before I was at school, so it really is a dream come true to own one. Here are some pictures:

Completely standard apart from the spotlights. It needs some touching up on the outside and inside but is in really good condition for it's age overall. It really is amazing fun to drive and makes a heavenly exhaust note (why don't modern hot hatches sound like this?)
I plan to do it back up to show condition and then take it to some shows in the future, even though I've already had compliments for it as it stands.
Anyway, hello again, from a new proud Ford owner.

Welcome mate. Lovely car. I had one many moons ago and would happily have another as a toy. I put a Janspeed manifold and full exhaust system on mine to give it a nice burble and then put an ITG air filter on it which made it sound even better when you gave it some stick. The air filter also made it so much nippier too.
Keep us updated with how you get on with it mate.

Ł1200 annual premium on an Admiral Multicar policy with my dad's car. Fully comp too. It would have been Ł1400 on a single policy.
Thanks for all the welcomes and kind words on the car everyone, I will keep you posted on the work I do to it.

cracking little car! I love the old fiesta's that are such fun to drive! My first one was a 1.4 ghia many moons ago. I loved it to bits till someone drove into it! They have loads of character! Be warned while fun to drive they have NONE of the driver safety aids you get in a modern car so you do have to be a bit more careful! but learning in a car like that does give you a lot of very good experience! Enjoy!

I had a really nice black one a few years back, lowered with a full Ashley exhaust and K&N, was a brilliant car and still kick myself for getting rid of it
