anyone know much about the bmw e39 530i sport
im in the need of a new car this or next week as my st is on its on last legs now, originally i was looking at the 540 sports but after some reading up the gearboxes can be a pain due to not taking the torque of the v8
so been advised by friends who have had bmws to stick with the straight 6
so ive been looking at the 530s, seem to be a hell of a car for the money but cant really find much on the net of what to look for on them
i would have one now as i phoned one up sunday night and asked if i could leavea deposit but he said to leave the auction running and next day he took it off becuase he recieved a deposit i wast best pleased as it was black with full cream leather and every extra going for £1800
i am looking for a black one with cream leather but my budget would be a max of 2k but obviously i want the best i can get for tat price but they seem to be too and far between
so what do i need to look out for and check with these cars i expect them to be high miles anyhow, or would it be worth just going for the se? as ive found a manual se in blue with factorty fitted sports pack, i.e bumpers etc and does look stunning but im looking at 01 onwards as they are face lift and the se is x reg but looks face lift and im confused lol
also if anyone knows of a sport in black let me know as im running out of time

thanks, was just seeing if anyone had one on here for personal input about them
but i cant seem to find what i want, theres a black one in wales, but needs a new rear bumper and rust sorting on boot lid as well as a crease in door
but im going to look at a non sport version se model tonight, which has sport eveything on it from factory, and looks extremly nice, and already got them down on price over phone without viewing it lol

You definitely want a sport in my opinion.
Extremely we'll built and reliable cars, very comfortable too for the money, they do look dated to me now but are still a great car and see loads going through the auctions near me all at great prices.
Mostly silver though, not seen a black with creme in a long time!
