I'm just using a motorcyle one as they are around £20 and also can connect to a walkie talkie unit to get very cheap pit to car radio

Nowhere near the quality of a Peltor mate.

I wouldn't reccomend it. You can buy a second hand Peltor for the price of a new one of them anyway. The quality difference is VAST.
