Thumbs down 7k to spend

I told my mate I would sell him my saff if he brought me 7k cash on Saturday thinking he'd say no. Now he has said yes its put me in a position where I now think it could be time to move on from the saff. I've put the car up forsale numerous times before but then I take the advert down a couple of days later when I realise I want to keep it lol this time though I think it's it. I bought my previous saff around 8yr ago then reshelled it into the current car 2-3yr ago and I just fancy a change. Me and Kelly bought a focus Rs last year and that is our daily runner and the saff has moved twice this year (central day, classic ford) and just sits there.

So if Connor turns up with 7k on Saturday what shall I buy? I don't really like m3's or impreza's so there a definate no for starters.

Ideally it would need to be able to cope with the odd trackday, not be as expensive as the cossie when it goes wrong lol and I don't know really hahahaha

Now I would be happy enough with something like a carb'd Zetec mk1 fezzy or something retro/cool.

Most importantly I'm a tight c#%t and don't want to lose much on depreciation as the cossie is part of my house deposit so not losing alot money on the car is important

Things I've been looking at so far inc mk1 fezzys and kitcars

What's your opinion and please don't say "keep the saff as I'll want another in a couple of months once its gone" as I already know that

evo 7 or 8?
good driving cars, car potter about in them, very easy to tune to around 400/400, make great track cars
if you buy the right car(good clean example) then they dont realy drop in value

get an s3, sink a few quid into brakes, suspension, FMIC and forged bottom end along with a roller turbo and you'll be laughing your ass off pushing towards 500horses
change from 7k for sure, probably cost about Ł6k all in if you start with a well priced quattro and look for good prices on parts.

Not my cup of tea really mate. If I was to build anything it would be a mk1 fezzy with a carb'd Zetec or turbo

Only thing about an evo is, I spent the last 8yrs ploughing money into the saff and don't want to start the same cycle with an evo cos it WILL happen if I was to buy one lol it'll start with one little mod and then it'll roll onto engine builds, big bhp and big bills

Skyline is a good call, I'm sure an R32 GTR will be within budget, although I have heard you need to tune them a little to really liven them up.
