Good lad!
Eurocarparts have a sale on at the moment, £31 for castrol EDGE, it's the cheapest you'll get it anywhere, I usually buy a bottle every time it's on sale.
Any questions just ask, had mine for 3 years and still love it.

Lol, well he does have a car show room in my city hahahaha.
Cheers, I got this for £5500 and while it's not mint (I hate the term mint) it's in good condition, 106k miles, been well looked after and sounds amazing!

Pic missing?
Yeah they're dirt cheap now for what they are, same as cossies really, you could pay another 3-4 grand and end up with a car no better than one at £5500 really. So many to choose from as well, do your homework and there's always a bargain to be had

Plynchy, have you tried m3cutters.co.uk?
Not posted a pic yet Rog, will try and put one on later.
That was my thinking, plus this has lots of receipts, every mot from new, service history etc, both vanos units were quiet, cam chain is quiet and not slack when rubbing. Sure the body work needs a little attention (paint is a bit flat and 2 tiny bits of rust which I'm gonna get sorted ASAP), I don't think I could've done any better for the money. There's no rust in the fuel filler cap (what a bad design!) and the noise, the noise is worth £5500 on it's own! Just need to bring the car up to date looks wise, it needs angel eyes

Sounds like you've covered all the bases with what to look for!
I know what you mean about the filler cap, I think the guy left bmw that designed it and went on to work for ford doing the ones on mk1 Ka's...
I always put loads of polish on the seam on mine and don't buff it off, it looks unsightly when you open up the petrol cap but the little rust that was there 3 years ago has never gotten any worse, so it's deffo worth fussing over. Just had mine painted at the back, a bad repair on a rear arch was totally fucked after the winter, and then one day a big rust bubble just appeared from nowehere from the top of the rear bumper on the rear 1/4 so I had the bumper off and that fixed, but generally they are super solid and don't suffer from corrosion much.
Can't wait to see pics!

Lol, I reckon he started life at vauxhall first doing the rear arches on Novas, Astras and cavaliers lol.
Does the polish stop it sitting there then? Or stop it sitting on the paint, so sits on the polish? I might use some hd wax there or something.
Mines rusted just above the bumper as well. It seems another common spot for them. Ill get on top of that before it gets too bad!
Lol, pics will be up soon, they're from the advert as I didn't take any when I viewed the car .
Ah bummer plynchy, I'm sure something will turn up soon!
I will soon eigdoog lol

Lol ginge, that's the beauty of the E39 M5, doesn't really stand out! And yes it does lol.
Cheers BM08. The paint is a bit flat on the passenger side, I think it's had some paint at some point, but it is hpi clear so not too fussed

My mates gonna look at the paint and detailing for me. I dont expect nor really want a mint car as I'd be too worried about using it lol.
Cheers Glenn, I think its the last of the decent looking M5's tbh. E28, E34 and E39 are classics. E6x and F10 havent grown on me really. Thats not to say that they wont.
Cheers Less
Thanks Pal. I was looking at getting an E46 M3 originally, but sub frame issues put me off so I decided to go back to what I've wanted for years. I'm looking forward to really being able to open the taps properly on this for the first time when I get it Might get 100 miles to a tank if I'm lucky

Cheers mate, I do like the E46's in m sport guise!
That looks nice mate, good choice!

Cheers, I have had a few teething issues with it, suspension air bag popped on me on the motorway and tuck out rear tyres and micro switch that kept popping boot window open and flattening battery, but after that its been mint

Pics of my M5 are now up in the Gallery.
