i would get a quote to repair and offer to get them to pay for it rather than go through insurance for that as your insurance will be effected by it regardless of it being your fault or not

I work in a body shop and insurers are now insisting in using recycled parts on cars more than 5 years old.Your looking at
Door(recycled) Possibly new window regulator.
Wing(non genuine)
N/s/f door moulding
Sill repair
Blend rear door
About £1500 if you want her dad to cash up.
