Default Any brake guru's on here that can help me??

Basically after bleeding my saph brakes (Cossie 2wd fronts and 4x4 rears) repeatedly still NO front brakes backs (pistons do not move at all) work fine but fronts not at all, when bleeding we have done it correct and just clear new fluid comes out of nipples however after trawling on here tonight I noticed something, I have fitted my fronts on the wrong sides meaning the bleed nipple is at the bottom not the top would this be why they are not working? also my fronts calipers have a bleed nipple on each side is there a reason for this?

Any help appreciated

Cheers

It wont make a difference to the bleeding process if they are on the wrong side. You do need to bleed both nipple on either side of the caliper though.

I would say change them over to how they are supposed to be because of air being trapped.I refurbed my 2wd calipers myself. No problems bleeding afterwards but I did suffer one piston sticking a few months later.Wet and dry and wd 40 sorted that.I got the pistons bloody clean before I refitted them in the first place too.

wrong i'm afraid, it REALY does make a differance if they're on the wrong side
the bleed nipple NEEDS to be at the top of the caliper
swap them over and bleed them again, this will solve your problem,
and you do need need to bleed both nipples on both calipers

The bleed nipple needs to be at the top, because, like farting in the bath, bubbles travel upwards remember

See what your saying. The caliper is upside down, yeah thats no good. Air cannot escape.

Yeah obviously I am going to change them back as I was thinking nipple being at the bottom I may have big air bubble trapped at top but would this really cause them not to work at all?

yip, the calipers will still be full of air, when your pressing the brake pedal your just compressing the air
