Default Engine swap declaration

Ive now swapped the mondeo engine into my mk4 fiesta.I still have the mondeo and log book for it.I now need to tell dvla that ive done the change over.Is it as easy as filling the paper work in on the v5 and sending it off.I have proof the mondeo is mine obviously. What did everyone else do when they did the change over

You need an engineers report of all the work carried out

Its a pain in the arse, you need a engineers report , engine numbers, a lot of paper work and phone calls and it will still take them months well they did when I swapped the engine in the fez.

I spend my life waiting for parts lol at work and at home,
I'd say that's the best thing just telling the insurance

When I changed from twinky to 2.9 in my 4be, I just sent a receipt for the engine with the serial number on it along with the V5. They changed it on the V5 with no issues. The receipt was just hand written in one of those carbon copy receipt books with the garage stamp on it. Wouldn't be hard to write one out yourself and use one of those address stamps from a stationers that come with a load of letters you just put in yourself.

If its an OEM part I.e ford designed engine made to fit a later model and you don't need to do any structural modifications for it to fit then yeh all you need is proof of the engine etc, but if you need to do any modifications they need a report to show that all the stresses and weak spots have bin taken into concideration when doing the build

This is what you get if they are not happy with the documentation!

I had to send them a receipt from a garage on headed paper showing fuel type, cc and year of engine manufacture before they would send my log book back.

You don't need an engineers report if you have a decent receipt

I have a Dutton phaeton 1970 kit car.
I removed the 1600 crossflow and fitted a 5400cc v8.
I sent of the log book with the engine codes and cc change and they sent it straight back updated to new info no questions.

the only time ive had issues is when ive fitted a smaller engine and dropped into cheaper tax bracket, they make it very difficult if there gonna loose some money !

I think kit cars are different as there based under custom in the same bracket as tax exempt
