Default a real sleeper 24V twin turbo

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Scorp...#ht_669wt_1030

says its the MD of turbo technics car, so should be a goodun ( ebay user name seems to back this up? )

Tho even then , theres still the good old insurance fraud, registered still as a 2.3

wonder was the reserve is, and how long the engine stays in the car if someone wins it!

True definition of a sleeper: find the biggest pile of shit car you can, keep the exterior completely standard and have a crazy engine!

The Scorpio I pre-facelift was solid in every department.

I was tempted to buy one of those myself at one stage, mainly as it would be more aerodynamic than my car. But then realised they were an even bigger pile of shit than what I already had ! lol

For parts or as a complete car ?

I'd struggle to value the car itself at more than £1500 considering what you can buy for such money.

As a twin turbo novelty it may carry more value or less. To break for parts....still no huge value.

As others suggested, it may have more value to someone looking for a twin turbo engine setup for another project.

I like the fact it looks so dowdy an bog stranded but having a gross kerb weight of well under 1.5 tonnes and 300+ BHP it will move a lot faster than it looks! and it is an estate!

4 wheel drive too! Bonkers made me smile!

front suspension is different but if you've got a 4wd estate it's a virtual bolt in replacement

I have seen a mk3 granada hatch with a bug eye front end, so surely you could bolt a granada front to this?

Love the idea of it but I personally wouldn't value it above £2500 top whack. You would be surprised what Granada enthusiasts are happy to pay for the right car though!

Amusingly cool car. But they tuned down £2.5K!! That's going to sit around for sale for a long time if that's the case.

May seem a lot for it but I bet the cost of the engine exceeds that amount easily. It seems to be a similar spec to the 3 door tt have, other than turbos and inlet, and this engine runs 600+hp, so potentially there's big power in that engine for not a lot of money.

As with anything it is worth exactly what the buyer pays for it and not a penny more

i remember that everyone was on about the plenum not flowing enough air to make more than about 280 forced induction due to it being restrictive, and then geoff turns up in a 500 brake version, this car, and everyone was like "oh yeah, 500 brake easy in that spec"

it's a lot of car

with that spec it could just be the best tow car in the paddock (if only I could afford the fuel bill towing with 300+ bhp I'd bid for it).

Impossible to value, the fact its come direct from TT and is a one off conversion who knows, ebay auction will show what it was really worth. £3K to someone just for the fun of it? I think the fact it belongs to the MD of TT makes it quite desireable.

What is the alternative?
Mitsi gallant Legnum VR4 or Legacy GTB2?
How much are they these days?

I would say for the most part yes the running gear would be an easy swap

Yes, but that's ignoring the fact the Ford in this case is still a shit car. It will rust, and they have huge electrical issues. Wouldnt own a VR4 either...their tiptronics are very unreliable.

Legacy would be a good car, although the twin turbos can be troublesome.

But very much so, if someone did particularly want such a car then it would command a higher price. It is a niche market

I thought the fact the seller is called Turbo Technics was a big clue there too ?
