Default question for the auto electricians

can anyone in the know tell me if the computers used in your profession to find and cure faults be used on 12v and 24 volt or are their different computers for both applications

Most are setup for 12v but the snap-on solus that I use has a 24v obd2 application on it

Also osiciliscopes and volt/amp metres run on various volts

I work for Daf but we do vans as well so we have an eclipse jal test that will do 12v and 24v.
Things like the snap on one arnt worth a wank on trucks lol

I don't really do any 12v stuff but the one we have is good and the tech support hot line is very good it also dose trucks trailers vans agricultural and static plant engines.
The tecstar is meant to be good as well that also dose 12 and 24 volts

I've heard of the tecstar my m8 at volvo uses one, a lot of the code readers actually give ghost codes which don't even exists which is a pain sometimes

Yes mate I had the ultra on trial for 2 weeks first plus the free training and technical help is superb too

Never looked at Bosch to be fair I got a brilliant discount on mine as it was re possed off a customer after only 3 weeks

Read into what is does, you need something that will read codes, bring up live data, and also have a function option, some have built in oscilloscopes, and some are wifi ready to allow you to measure your data with info to see the compared readings
