Default Any Ford techs?

I've got a mk2 Focus 1.6 petrol '06 reg.

I've recently changed my spark plugs (Bosch then NGK), oil (5/30 Mobil) and oil filter.

Since changing the plugs it's developed a rather annoying tappet sound, much louder then before but goes off abit once its been running.

I've tried new leads, coil, different plugs but I'm just pissing in the wind with it atm.

It's now running back on the old plugs and I'm sure it seems to be using more fuel.

Seems to be a regular thing with a quick google search but seems I can't find an answer to it.

Any help would be great as it was lovely before this!

Cheers!

Mine (03 plate) sounds the same mainly until she gets up to temp. From what I've read it can be the valve stem seals that get worn and need replacing. The rattle is caused by a lack of lubrication.
