Default Lets talk diffs..(uprated)

Im after a diff to go with my rear beam on the 3dr.... I don't want nothing noisy.. So the gripper and anything like that is out of the question..

At the min ... Think I'm might be steers towards a bara.

I've got a 3.9 Bara 240nM in my 3 Door at the moment and I think it great and it takes some serious hard launches.
Having said that it will be changed for the Supra one soon as I get a free weekend to fit it.

If you use Castrol B373 LSD oil there will be much less noise.

I love my quaife. Wish my saff was on the road and I would show you Matt.

No noise, I know it's going to grip where I want and spin when I want.

Dose the bora diff still use two planet gears and two sun gears if so it still has the same weakness the standard one dose. So if its quiet and same as standard you are after has to be the quaife really

what weight is that then? As grippers are meant to have 80/140 in them

Been advised away from the quaife as.. They like to spin one wheel before the other

I just want something that's quiet and drive's nice and does its job.

I just don't like the idea of the bora diff as the weakness of the standard one other than it being 7.5 inches is the fact it only has two planet gears and two sun gears. So lots of torque puts a lot of strain on them and brakes them the bora diff is still the same set up

Supra diff is the only way forward really and mat as you gone to the expense of doing a 6degree beam you may as well go the whole hog with rose joints and mk supra kit! Or theres the jag diff

James the bara uprated used a stronger set of gears in there aswell, and if mat hasn't broken the standard one yet he shouldn't break the uprated gears.

I had bara diff with 475 lb/ft torque. Didnt break mine. Although i was never a hardcore launcher but did have 888 tyres so lots of grip to be transferred through the diff. Good as gold

The Bara diff does have forged planet and sun gears so is stronger than a 25 year old knackered one!
Here's me giving it a launch with 235 888's fitted and 531 ft/lb of torque it's been getting this kind of abuse for over year now.

No idea what the weight is, but Gripper now also reccommend the Castrol oil which is the LSD oil done for motorsport.

I've got a gripper in my car, tbh they are a bit lively for the road but when it launches it leaves stripes.

And they both wheels spin if one wheel has less traction

I took the pics when I was getting bad axle tramp which you can see in some of the pics but I managed to get it a lot better afterwards.
