I need wheel bearings for my cougar v6, I've called ford and a few parts shops and they say 'on the system' my car is none abs, and quote me for none abs bearings, but when I start my car an abs light comes on with my traction control light, then goes off. This suggests to me that I have abs.

Is there any difference between abs and none abs wheel bearings? I wouldn't have thought there was, but I thought I'd check here see if any one knows.

Some wheel bearings incorporate a magnet that the abs sensor picks a signal up from.

Instead of a toothed ring on the cv joint etc
